The introduction of the white-tailed deer from the United States to Finland is a unique story of success because almost without exception, such inter-continental transfers have failed or caused massive damage. But the introduction of these deer went well and the new population causes no notable problems.

The pictures in this book were all taken in Finnish forests. Many of them are unique, even internationally.
This book was written by Juha K. Kairikko. He has served as the Executive Director of the Finnish Hunters Association and the Editor in Chief of the Jahti-Jakt magazine.
The photographs in this book were taken by Jaakko Ruola. After a long career in business, he became increasingly interested in photography. He has always enjoyed being outdoors and around the change of the millennium, he really started to concentrate on nature photography.
